  • (after the Barney Theme Song, we see the clubhouse from a bird eye's view then we see Brandon walking out of the clubhouse holding a basketball, then he walks over to the basketball net, then Cody shows up)
  • Cody: Hey Brandon!
  • Brandon: Hey Cody! What's up?
  • Cody: Nothing much! What are you doing?
  • Brandon: I was just getting ready to play some basketball! Do you wanna play, too?
  • Cody: Sure! Basketball is one of my favorite sports!
  • Brandon: Good, because I'm gonna pass to you! *tosses the ball to Cody*
  • (Cody makes a shot)
  • Brandon: Nice shot!
  • Cody: Thanks!
  • (we then zoom over to Sabrina who is looking sad, and sitting on the Idea Bench)
  • (music starts for "The Sad Song")
  • Sabrina: I'm so sad and feeling blue. I don't know what I should do. This just hasn't been my day. I just wish someone would care, anyone from anywhere, and chase my blues away.
  • (music ends)
  • (we see the Barney doll sitting near the idea bench then he comes to life)
  • Barney: Whoa!
  • Sabrina: Barney!
  • Barney: Hi Sabrina! (walks over to the Idea Bench to hug her)
  • (boys notice Barney)
  • Boys: Barney!
  • (the boys run over to the Idea Bench where the two are)
  • Barney: Hi Cody, hi Brandon! (high-fives the two boys)
  • Cody: Hey Sabrina, why don't you come play basketball with us?
  • Sabrina: I'd like to, but right now, I'm to sad to play basketball.
  • Brandon: Why?
  • Sabrina: I've been feeling sad because the other day, my grandmother died. I'm really gonna miss her. My life won't be the same without her.
  • Barney: Aw. It's okay to miss someone you love, Sabrina.
  • Brandon: Hey Cody, do you wanna do something else now?
  • Cody: Sure! Let's put away the basketball first.
  • (Cody and Brandon leave)
  • Sabrina: Oh, Barney. I never lost someone I really care about.
  • Barney: I know, Sabrina.
  • (music starts for "It's OK to Cry")
  • Barney: When you feel a tear in your eye, it usually means you want to cry. So if you've been hurt and it hurts real bad, or if you have feelings that are making you sad, then it's OK, it's OK to cry 'Cause I know that when I'm done crying, I can talk about what's bothering me. And though my face gets wetter, I feel much better, if I talk about what's bothering me. Crying is nature's way of helping bad feelings go away. So if you've been hurt or are feeling bad, whether your a kid or a mom or a dad, then it's OK, it's OK to cry.
  • Sabrina: 'Cause I know that when I'm done crying, I can talk about what's bothering me. And though my face gets wetter, I feel much better if I talk about what's bothering me.
  • Barney & Sabrina: Yes, that works for me.
  • (music ends)
  • (Sabrina gets up off the Idea Bench and hugs Barney)
  • (we fade into the clubhouse where the boys are sitting on the couch and chatting)
  • Cody: Do you feel better yet, Sabrina?
  • Sabrina: A little bit. I'm still a little sad.
  • Barney: Well, looks like we should do something to make your sad face a happy one again. And I think I know how. I want everyone to think of something that makes you feel happy.
  • (everyone thinks and after 10 seconds, one of them gets an idea)
  • Brandon: I know something that makes me happy.
  • Barney: What's that, Brandon?
  • Brandon: I like to play a game with my friends.
  • Barney: Games like these? *he shoots out magic sparkles that go outside then many things to play games appear*
  • Kids: Wow!
  • (everyone goes outside and fades to them outside)
  • (music starts for "Games")
  • Barney: When we're together, there's nothing better, than playing a game with a friend!
  • Brandon: With games we all know, we can get up and go! We can make up new games and pretend!
  • Sabrina: Laughing and running or singing a song!
  • Cody: Climbing and jumping all day long!
  • Barney: I love it when we play together playing..
  • All: Games!
  • Barney: There's nothing like playing 'em..
  • All: Games!
  • Barney: Everyone loves to play..
  • All: Games!
  • Barney: Let's keep on playing our games! Dancing along we can play all day long! We never get tired of the fun!
  • Sabrina: There's alway's a new game or one with a new name, a game we can teach everyone!
  • Brandon: There are many outdoor games that we love to play!
  • Cody: And others we save for a rainy day!
  • Barney: As long as we're playing together, playing..
  • All: Games! There's nothing like playing 'em..games! Everyone loves to play games! Let's keep on playing our games!
  • (music ends)
  • Sabrina: Can you guess what my favorite game is? *starts hopping one one foot, then the other, then on both feet, then repeats this pattern again*
  • Cody: I know! Hopscotch!
  • Sabrina: That's it, Cody! Now it's your turn!
  • Cody: OK! *thinks for a minute* I got it! *pretends he's holding a bat then swings and he runs around*
  • Brandon: Is it baseball?
  • Cody: That's right, Brandon! It's your turn.
  • Brandon: OK. *pretends he's dribbling a ball then jumps up, pretending he's throwing a ball in a net*
  • Cody & Sabrina: Basketball!
  • Sabrina: We should've known!
  • Cody: Yeah! Brandon plays basketball all the time!
  • Brandon: Do you have a favorite game, Barney?
  • Barney: I sure do! But first, I'll need something! *his magic makes a hula-hoop appear in his hands* Now I'll set this down right here! *sets down hula-hoop, skips around it, puts his hand in, and shakes it, then spins*
  • Kids: Looby Loo!
  • Barney: That's right! How about it, everybody? Shall we Looby Loo?
  • Kids: Yeah!
  • Barney: OK then! Come on, everyone!
  • (music starts for "Looby Loo")
  • All: Here we go Looby Loo, here we go Looby Light, here we go Looby Loo, all on a Saturday night!
  • Sabrina: I put my right hand in, I put my right hand out! I give my hand a shake, shake, shake and turn myself about!
  • All: Here we go Looby Loo, here we go Looby Light, here we go Looby Loo, all on a Saturday night!
  • Cody: I put my left hand in, I put my left hand out! I give my hand a shake, shake, shake and turn myself about!
  • All: Here we go Looby Loo, here we go Looby Light, here we go Looby Loo, all on a Saturday night!
  • Brandon: I put my whole self in, I put my whole self out! I give myself a shake, shake, shake and turn myself about!
  • All: Here we go Looby Loo, here we go Looby Light, here we go Looby Loo, all on a Saturday night!
  • (music ends)
  • (fades to everyone going back in the clubhouse while the kids sit on the couch)
  • Brandon: That was fun!
  • Barney: It was! Now Cody, what is something you like to do that makes you happy?
  • Cody: Well...*thinks for a minute* I like to make crafts! Why don't we make something right now?
  • Barney: Sure! This sounds like a job for...*his magic makes the Barney Bag appear*
  • Kids: The Barney Bag!
  • (Cody picks it up then everyone goes upstairs and fades to them entering the art room as everyone is surrounded around the table)
  • (music starts for "The Barney Bag")
  • Barney: Oh, I've been looking in my Barney Bag, and I found a lot of things! Gizmos and gadgets and odds and ends, and even some old string!
  • Kids: So let's ask ourselves the question: "What can we make today?" With imagination and the Barney Bag, we'll see what we can make today, yeah, see what we can make today!
  • (music ends)
  • Cody: You know what I'm thinking? Since we're talking about ways to stay happy today, let's make masks that have different feelings on them! We'll need some markers, some construction paper, and some popsicle sticks!
  • (everyone gets the things they need then a montage plays of them creating the masks and then the montage ends with all of them done)
  • Brandon: Hey Barney, check out our masks! I made a happy face!
  • Cody: I made an angry face!
  • Sabrina: And I made a sad face!
  • (music starts for "I Can See It On Your Face")
  • Barney: These masks are super-dee-duper!
  • Brandon: Sometimes I feel happy, and that's just fine with me! I think feeling happy is my favorite way to be!
  • All: You can tell I'm happy by the smile on my face. Yes sometimes I feel happy! You can see it on my face!
  • Cody: Sometimes I feel angry, 'cause some things make me mad! I get so upset whenever someone treats me bad!
  • All: You can tell I'm angry by the frown on my face. Yes sometimes I feel angry! You can see it on my face!
  • Sabrina: Sometimes I feel sad, 'cause some things make me blue! I pucker up my little lip and cry a tear or two!
  • All: You can tell I'm sad by the look on my face! Yes sometimes I feel sad! You can see it on my face!
  • Barney: I can tell what your feeling by the look on your face! Each and every feeling has its time and its place. But feeling mad or sad should only last a little while, so happiness can fill your heart and give you back your smile.
  • All: Yes I can tell what your feeling, I can see it on your face!
  • Cody: When your angry!
  • All: I can see it on your face!
  • Sabrina: Or when your sad!
  • All: I can see it on your face!
  • Brandon: Or when your happy!
  • Barney: I can tell what your feeling! I can see it on your face!
  • (music ends)
  • Barney: You know, these masks remind me of a game we can play! It's called "Name That Feeling."
  • Cody: Can we play it?
  • Barney: Sure! Come over to the table and I'll show you how to play!
  • (everyone walks over to the table as the kids sit down)
  • Barney: Now I'll tell you some stories and I want one of you to hold up your masks so we can tell that if it's a happy story, a story filled with anger, or a sad story. Everybody ready?
  • Kids: Ready!
  • Barney: OK! Now there once was a boy named Robert and his mother bought him a brand new toy!
  • (Brandon holds up his mask)
  • Barney: Very good, Brandon! That's a happy story! Now for the next one: There were two sisters named Taylor and Carol, but one day, Carol took a toy from Taylor that didn't belong to her.
  • (Cody holds up his mask)
  • Barney: Your right, Cody! Now for the last story: A boy named Andrew was walking in the park, but he accidently tripped and stubbed his toe.
  • (Sabrina holds up her mask)
  • Barney: That's right! Oh your very good at this game!
  • (all adlibbing as we fade outside to where Barney and the kids are walking)
  • Cody: Hey Sabrina, maybe you should do something special for your Grandmother!
  • Sabrina: Actually, we are. My family is having a funeral for her tonight.
  • Barney: A funeral is when you take the time to remember the certain person that died.
  • Sabrina: That's right, Barney. Then they have to put her in a casket and bury her in the ground.
  • Brandon: Why don't you give your Grandmother some flowers at the funeral? There are lots of flowers around the clubhouse.
  • Sabrina: Well, we shouldn't pick them. Besides, real flowers look too pretty to pick.
  • Cody: Why don't we make flowers?
  • Brandon: How can you make flowers?
  • Cody: Let's go back up to the art room and I'll show you!
  • (everyone goes back into the clubhouse as we fade to them in the art room)
  • Cody: First, take a piece of tissue paper and crinkle it up like this! *as he tells them how to make them, he shows them how* Then you take a green pipe cleaner, and twist it on like this! Now you try!
  • (we see a montage of them making flowers then it ends after a while)
  • Cody: Now let me show you how to make a flower out of this coffee filter! First you color it anyway you like! *shows them how to do it while telling them how to do it* Then you spray some water on it, like this! And you add the green pipe cleaner and twist it on!
  • Sabrina: These flowers look great! I'll definitely take these to my Grandmother's funeral!
  • (music starts for "What Makes a Flower So Pretty?")
  • Barney: Flowers are so beautiful, aren't they? What makes a flower so pretty? How does it cheer up your day? I think a flower is most beautiful when it is given away!
  • Sabrina: Bright happy colors of yellow and green, purple and blue, red and white, too! The prettiest colors that I've ever seen, I want to share them with you!
  • All: What makes a flower so pretty? How does it cheer up your day? I think a flower is most beautiful, when it is given away!
  • Boys: Pansies and marigolds freshen the air, daisies in bloom, sunflowers, too!
  • Barney: I've never smelled anything oh so fair! Each flower is special like you!
  • All: What makes a flower so pretty? How does it cheer up your day? I think a flower is most beautiful, when it is given away, away, when it is given away!
  • (music ends)
  • (fades to the group exiting the clubhouse and walking towards the playground)
  • Sabrina: Thanks for the flowers, everyone! Their so pretty!
  • (Barney and the kids adlib)
  • Sabrina: But..but..*sighs then walks away*
  • Cody: I think she's still sad, Barney.
  • Barney: I think so to, Cody! I better check on her! *goes to Idea Bench where Sabrina's sitting down* Are you still feeling upset about your Grandmother, Sabrina?
  • Sabrina: Yeah, I guess so. The more I try not to think about, the more I do end up thinking about it. I'll really, really, miss her, Barney!
  • Barney: I know. When you lose something you love, it makes you feel sad.
  • (music starts for "When Tomorrow Comes")
  • Barney: When you lose something you love, it can be hard to let it go. But learning how to say goodbye is another way we grow. No matter what happens, there's always tomorrow to bring in the sunshine and wash out the sorrow. With friends you can count on and people you love, you'll feel better when tomorrow comes.
  • (the boys walk over)
  • Barney: Though you may feel sad down inside, it's okay to let it show. These feelings that your feeling will surely come and go.
  • Barney & Boys: No matter what happens, there's always tomorrow to bring in the sunshine and wash out the sorrow. With friends you can count on and people you love, you'll feel better when tomorrow comes.
  • (music ends)
  • Brandon: I'm so sorry for your loss, Sabrina.
  • Cody: Yeah, me too.
  • Brandon: Is there anything we can do to help her, Barney?
  • Barney: I think the best thing you can do is be her friend.
  • Cody: Sabrina, we know your feeling sad, but if you need anything, we'll alway's be here for you!
  • Sabrina: Thanks, guys! Whenever I'm feeling sad, I know I can count on you to cheer me up!
  • (music starts for "You Can Count on Me")
  • Brandon: You can count on me, I'll always be around!
  • Cody: I will cheer you up, when your feeling down!
  • Boys: I like you, you like me! We have fun together!
  • Barney: When it's sunny, when it rains, in any kind of...
  • Boys: In any kind of...
  • Barney & Boys: In any kind of weather!
  • Brandon: You can count on me, because I am your friend!
  • Cody: We make a happy team, together to the end!
  • Boys: Your my buddy, I'm your pal, side by side we're playing!
  • Barney: If you ever need my help, on your side I'm...
  • Boys: On your side I'm...
  • Barney & Boys: On your side I'm staying!
  • All: You can count on me, I'll always be around! I will cheer you up, when your feeling down! You can count on me, because I am your friend! We make a happy team, together to the end!
  • Boys: You can count on me!
  • (music ends)
  • (Sabrina hugs Barney)
  • Sabrina: Thanks, everyone! I feel so lucky that I have friends like you!
  • Barney: And we're lucky to have you as a friend, Sabrina! We all have different feelings sometimes, like being happy, mad, and sad!
  • (music starts for "I Love You")
  • Barney: But I think one of the best feelings of all is love. I love you, you love me. We're a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?
  • All: I love you, you love me. We're best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?
  • (music ends)
  • Sabrina: *looks at her watch* I've only got a few hours until my Grandma's funeral. I've gotta get ready! I'll see you guys later! *leaves*
  • Barney & Boys: Bye Sabrina.
  • Brandon: I guess we better get going, too. Bye Barney!
  • Cody: Bye Barney!
  • Barney: OK, bye!
  • (the boys leave, then we see the Barney doll sitting on the Idea Bench then the doll winks)
