(Instrumental of the Barney Theme Song plays as the lights go dim in the theater and Barney enters stage right)

Barney: Oh, hi everybody! Welcome back! We’ve just been waiting for the hot air balloon to finish blowing up. It should be ready any minute now.

(as Barney is speaking, Ensemble Member #3 enters center stage with the almost completely blown up hot air balloon as we see it is a multi-colored balloon)

(BJ and Baby Bop enter stage right)

BJ: Oh, is the hot air balloon ready yet?

Ensemble Member #3: Not quite yet, BJ. But it’s getting there.

BJ: Oh good.

Baby Bop: Oh, I can’t wait till it is ready, so we can fly high up in the sky.

(others agree)

Barney: That will be fun!

Ensemble Member #3: OK, that should do it! The hot air balloon is ready to go!

(all cheer)

Barney: Well, then we’d better be going! Thank you very much!

Ensemble Member #3: Oh, you’re welcome, Barney. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Barney: Oh, thank you.

BJ: Well come on, Barney! What are we waiting for? Let’s get going!

Barney: Oh, BJ. *chuckles*

(Music starts for “Where The Wind Takes Us”)

BJ: There are places I'd like to see, and people I want to know.

Baby Bop: So much I want to do. Yes, I'm ready to get up and go!

Barney: There is so much to discover. Excitements in the air! Oh yes, the wind can take us anywhere!

(the dinos get in the balloon via a door in the basket)

Barney: Well thank you again for the hot air balloon!

(the dinos say their goodbyes as the Ensemble member exits stage left)

Barney: OK then, here we go! *pulls on the hot air balloon string as it makes a sound effect and the curtains open to reveal the blue curtains and spotlights shine on the curtain to represent clouds*

(All dinos adlib in excitement)

All: Let's go where the wind is blowin'. Yes fly up in the air. Around the world is where we're going. The wind can take us anywhere

Baby Bop: Yes, we will fly across the seven seas

BJ: On our way to visit many different countries.

Barney: Oh yeah!

All: Let's go where the wind is blowin'. Yes fly up in the air. Around the world is where we're going. The wind can take us anywhere. Around the world is where we're going. The wind can take us anywhere

(the other dinos agree as a little beeping noise is heard)

Baby Bop: You know I can just reach out and touch a cloud *giggles*

BJ: Yeah, and we can fly through the clouds, too.

(a hot air balloon shaped spotlight moves across the stage as if it’s landing)

Riff: It’s a hot air balloon! Now that’s a sight to see! Oh, and look! Barney and the others are riding on it! Tippity-top!

(Barney, BJ and Baby Bop enter stage right as they greet Riff)

Barney: Flying so high with its tail in the breeze. Up in the air with the greatest of ease. Flipping and dipping with colors so bright

All: I love to fly my kite. Whirling, twirling, high in the air. Whirling, twirling, floating up there. At the end of the string, it's a wonderful thing. I love to fly my kite

BJ: Uh...Sissy? We don’t have a magic carpet.

Baby Bop: Oh yes we do. Right here. *holds up her blankey* *giggles*

Barney: Oh I see. We can use our imaginations and pretend that Baby Bop’s blankey is a magic carpet.

Baby Bop: Yeah! *giggles* (sets her blankey down on the stage)

Barney: Oh, but I think we’ll need your help. Come on, everybody! We’re going to need a lot of imagination for this. Help us imagine that Baby Bop’s blankey is a magic carpet.

(the dinos close their eyes as magic sound effects are heard, and the blankey zips backstage via platform)

Barney: Are you imagining?

(dinos say “Yes”)

(other dinos agree as one of the Ensemble Members takes off Barney’s sombrero)

Barney: Great! *to the audience* And you can dance along with us! Come on, everybody and stand up now! Come on! *chuckles* And here we go!

(“La Raspa” begins to play (same music from “Talent Show” and “What a World We Share”) as the gang does the dance and this lasts for about a minute)

(as the music ends, everyone cheers)

BJ: Boy, what a fun day!

Barney: Oh it was! *chuckles* But I think we better be going.

Little Dinos: OK!

Barney: Gracias, amigos. Thank you for sharing your fiesta with us.

Ensemble Member #4: De nada. Adios, amigos. We hope to see you again soon.

(the gang says their final goodbyes as the curtains close leaving the ensemble members backstage and only the dinos on stage)

Riff: So guys, what did you think of the treasure hunt?

BJ: I thought it was cool.

Baby Bop: Yeah, it was fun.

Barney: Oh it was Super-Dee-Duper! *chuckles* *to the audience* Did you have fun too?

(Music starts for “If You’re Happy and You Know It”)

Riff: Tippity-top!

Barney: Then everyone stand up. And sing-along! If you're happy and you know it clap your hands. (Hands clapping) If you're happy and you know it clap your hands. (Hands clapping)

All: If you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it. If you're happy and you know it clap your hands. (Hands clapping)

(All the Ensemble Members enter on stage)

BJ: OK everybody. Now we’re going to stamp our feet. Get ready!

All: If you're happy and you know it stamp your feet. (Feet stamping) If you're happy and you know it stamp your feet. (Feet stamping) If you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it. If you're happy and you know it stamp your feet. (Feet stamping)

Riff: Wowzer! Now let’s all shout “hooray!”

All: If you're happy and you know it shout "Hooray!" Hooray! If you're happy and you know it shout "Hooray!" Hooray! If you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it. If you're happy and you know it shout "Hooray!" Hooray!

(Song ends as it transitions to “Music is For Everyone”)

Barney: If you clap you hands and stamp your feet, you started making music 'cause you started a beat.

Riff: Maybe play a kazoo, it's so much fun. Music is for everyone.

Barney & Riff: Music is great and it's everywhere. It will make you smile, as it fills the air. You can make music, yes it's lots of fun. Music is for everyone.

BJ: Blow into a trumpet or slide trombone.

Barney: Maybe play the tuba, or a sousaphone

Riff: You can play the cymbals, or a big bass drum.

Baby Bop: Music is for everyone.

(Music ends)

Ensemble Member #1: Hey Barney, we have one more surprise for you. *runs backstage*

Barney: Oh you do?

Ensemble Member #4: A huh. These are some postcards that some of our friends in the audience sent you.

Barney: Oh boy, oh boy! *chuckles* I wonder what they say?

Ensemble Member #2: Well let’s see…

(The audio for the show is paused as two different Ensemble Members read a postcard sent in from an audience member (NOTE: These are sent in during the intermission of the show in which parents can get a card out of the theater lobby and write down a message the kids want to send to Barney)

(After the two cards have been read, the audio picks back up)

Barney: Oh thank you all very much! These postcards really mean a lot to me, because they came from such special friends. And you know, every boy and girl around the world is special in his or her own way.

(Music starts for “Everyone Is Special”)

Barney: You are special, you're the only one You're the only one like you. There isn’t another in the whole wide world Who can do the things you do.

All: 'Cause you are special, special. Everyone is special. Everyone in his or her own way. Oh, you are special, special. Everyone is special. Everyone in his or her own way

Barney *chuckles* You know it’s true. You're important, oh, you really are. You're the only one like you. The world is better, just because you're here.

All: You should know that we love you. ‘Cause you are special, special. Everyone is special Everyone in his or her own way. Oh, you are special, special. Everyone is special. Everyone in his or her own way.

(Instrumental break)

Barney: That’s right! Everyone is special in their own special way.

Ensemble Member #2: That’s right! Because no matter what country your from…

Ensemble Member #3: And how different your culture may be…

Barney: That’s exactly what makes you: you! Because everyone in this world is very, very special to me. *chuckles*

(Curtains open revealing there to be nothing on the stage except for a giant globe spinning (same one from Colorful World) and a bunch of white lights on the back wall)

All: Oh you are special, special. Everyone is special. Everyone in his or her own way. Oh, you are special, special. Everyone is special. Everyone in his or her own way.

All (except Barney): Everyone?

Barney: Everyone in his or her own way.

(Song ends as everyone poses and streamers shoot onto the stage)

Barney: Oh boy, oh boy! That was great! *chuckles*

(All adlib in excitement)

Ensemble Member #4: Oh Barney, we nearly forgot. There’s still one more postcard. *picks it up near the globe* This one is from all of us to you, and all our friends in the audience. *hands the postcard to Baby Bop*

Barney: Well what does it say?

Baby Bop: The treasure hunt was lots of fun, thank you for coming everyone. Thank you Riff for such a fun time, and for all the clues that came in rhyme.

BJ: We learned new words like Bonjour and kon’nichiwa,  namaste, ni hao, and of course, hola. My oh my, how time flies, because now it’s time to say goodbye.

Barney: Oh you’re right. It is time for us to go. But remember, we can play again anytime you want. All you have to do is use your imagination. *chuckles*

(Music starts for “I Love You” which is in the same tone as “Let’s Go to the Zoo”)

Barney: We have time for one more song before we have to go. I think you all know this one. *chuckles* I love you, you love me. We’re a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won’t you say you love me too? Ok everybody, sing along.

All: I love you, you love me. We’re best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won’t you say you love me too?

(Music ends)

(The cast says their final goodbyes as the outro music from “Musical Castle” “Colorful World” and “Let’s Go Tour” plays)

(The cast exits, and Barney exits but stops)

Barney: Oh wait. You can’t leave without a kiss goodbye, so here it comes. *gives a kiss goodbye*

(Heart-shaped confetti rains down on the stage and audience)

Barney: Oh bye, bye everybody! Thanks for coming! We had a lot of fun! And remember, I love you. Bye, bye! So long! See you later!

(Barney stays on stage until the curtains finally close ending the show)
