- Among the VHS release was a 2-disc Laserdisc set.
- On March 22, 2005, HiT Entertainment released the Barney and the Backyard Gang and Season 1 box sets on DVD, which were distributed by Warner Home Video, which also distributed the rest of the seasons.
- The cover used for the DVD case is a replica of the one used for the post-1995 re-releases of the Barney's Magical Musical Adventure VHS.
