(after the "Barney Theme Song," we see the kids gathering a bunch of things and putting them in bags, while the Barney doll sits on the coffee table)
Emma: OK, do we have everything we'll need for tonight?
Jimmy: I got the snacks.
Sabrina: I brought the flashlight.
Nathan: And I brought some chairs.
Emma: OK! Then I think we do have everything.
Jimmy: Come on, guys, let's get outside! Mr. Carter is waiting for us!
(the kids exit with the supplies as we fade outside where its nighttime and we see Mr. Carter setting up the telescope)
(kids greet Mr. Carter)
Mr. Carter: Oh, hi everybody!
(the kids set down their things, and Emma sets the Barney doll on the tire swing)
Mr. Carter: So, are you all ready for tonight?
Kids: Oh yeah!
Mr. Carter: Well you kids are way ahead of me. I'm still working on setting up the telescope!
Jimmy: Can I help you, Mr. Carter?
Mr. Carter: Oh, thank you Jimmy, that would be great! Wrench.
Jimmy: Wrench. *hands Carter a wrench*
Mr. Carter: Hammer.
Jimmy: Hammer. *hands him the hammer*
(construction sounds are heard as Mr. Carter sets up the telescope)
Mr. Carter: There! I think it should be good to go!
Jimmy: Can I take a look through it, Mr. Carter?
Mr. Carter: Oh, of course you can! That's what it's for!
(Jimmy peeks through the telescope, as it moves it around while looking)
Nathan: What do you see, Jimmy?
Jimmy: I see the stars, the moon, *we see the stars and moon through the telescope's point of view* and I can see...Barney!
(the Barney doll comes to life)
Barney: Hi everybody! Hi Mr. Carter!
Mr. Carter: Hi Barney!
Barney: What's everyone doing so late at night?
Sabrina: We're gonna be looking at the planets and stars through the telescope for the Middle School Astronomy Club.
Barney: Oh boy, that sounds like fun!
Emma: Now let me see what I can see. *looks through the telescope* Wow, I can see a lot of stars up there, and that one looks like a good star to wish on. Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.
Sabrina: What did you wish for, Emma?
Emma: If I told you, it wouldn't come true!
(everyone adlibs things like "Oh yeah!" and "Of course!")
(music starts for "Mr. Star")
Emma: Mr. Star, up in the sky. You seem so far away. I'm so glad to see you now. Where have you been all day?
All: Mr. Star, way up high, So beautiful at night Light up the sky, You shine so bright. I'll make a wish As I gaze at you tonight. What a sight you are, Mr. Star!
Jimmy: Hey, where did you go today With the other stars? Were you hiding behind the sun With the moon and planet Mars.

Mr. Carter: *picks up a paper* Now let me see here...according to this chart, if you point the telescope up, and turn it a little to the right, you'll see Mars!
(kids adlib in excitement)
Mr. Carter: Let me see here...point it up, turn it to the right... *we see the telescope's point of view of several stars* Hmm...I don't see Mars...maybe I did it wrong.
(then a toy rocket is seen through the telescope)
Mr. Carter: Hmm...that's interesting.
Barney: What is it, Mr. Carter?
Mr. Carter: Your not gonna believe this...but I see a rocket through the telescope. It looks very close, too.
Barney: *taps on Mr. Carter's shoulder* Actually, it's closer than you think!
(BJ and Baby Bop are seen playing with the toy rocket as they meet up with the others)
Nathan: Look! It's BJ and Baby Bop!
(everyone greets the little dinos)
BJ: Hey guys!
Baby Bop: Hi everybody! Do you like my toy rocket?
Nathan: It would be cool if we really could go to outer space in a real rocket ship!
Mr. Carter: Now there's an idea, Nathan! That would make our Astronomy Club meeting extra exciting.
Jimmy: Yeah, but there's one little problem...we don't have a real rocket ship. That one is just a toy.
Barney: Are you sure? Why don't you all take a better look at that toy rocket, and use your imaginations!
(sparkles circle around the rocket, then it transforms into a bigger one)
(everyone adlibs in excitement)
Emma: Look at our spacesuits!
Nathan: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!
(all adlib in excitement as we fade to the next scene where everyone is getting on the rocket (looks kinda similar to the interior of the rocket from "Barney in Outer Space")
(all adlib in excitement)
Jimmy: This is amazing! A real rocket ship!
Nathan: I've alway's wanted to go to outer space!
(other kids agree, as everyone sits on some chairs)
Barney: OK, is everyone ready?
All (except Barney): Ready!
Barney: Then let's have a countdown!
All: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Blast off!
(rocket shakes around for a little bit, as we see the outside of the rocket while it blasts off, then we go back inside where it shakes around inside, and then we see the rocket going up further in the sky)
(music starts for "The Rocket Song")

Jimmy: Hey guys, look! I can see the Earth!
Nathan: And look at that planet with the rings around it! What planet is that?
Mr. Carter: That's Saturn, Nathan.
Baby Bop: And look at all these stars! There's so many of them!
Barney: There sure are!
Baby Bop: How many of them do you think there are, Barney?
Barney: Well, too many to count! *chuckles*
(music starts for "Count the Stars")
Barney: But we can alway's try! Look up and count the stars you see. Twinkling like a Christmas Tree. I wish I may, I wish I might. I'll make a wish for you tonight.
Baby Bop: For every star that I can see. There's someone counting just like me. Way up high, in outer space. Counting stars, hey! We can make it a race! *giggles* I wish I may, I wish I might. I'll make a wish for you tonight.

Sabrina: Outer space is so cool!
Nathan: Yeah! You know, maybe it would be cool to live up here!
(other kids adlib things like "I don't know")
BJ: It would be pretty lonely up here.
Emma: And there's quite a lot different from space, and living on Earth!
Baby Bop: Oh, really? Like what?
Barney: Well, For one thing, there's no day or night, because you can see the sun, the moon, and the stars all the time!
Mr. Carter: And also, there's no air up here in outer space!
Baby Bop: There isn't?
Mr. Carter: Nope, none at all.
(Baby Bop inhales, holding her breath)
BJ: Aie-yie-yie, Sissy! He meant that there's no air outside! We have plenty of air in here!
(Baby Bop lets out her breath)
Baby Bop: Oh. *giggles*
Sabrina: Is there anything else different about being in space?
(Barney whispers in Mr. Carter's ear)
Barney: Oh, yes there is!
Mr. Carter: And this is what I love best about outer space!
(Barney and Mr. Carter slowly levitate into the air)
Jimmy: I can't believe it! You guys are floating!
Baby Bop: But how?
Barney: In outer space, there's no gravity, and that means you can float around! *chuckles*
Baby Bop: But what is gravity?
BJ: Gravity is what keeps you on the ground, Sissy.
Baby Bop: Oh, I think I get it.
BJ: Can I do that, too? It looks cool!
Mr. Carter: Of course! In fact, you can all do it!
(everyone else begins floating)
(Music starts for "Floating Together So Free")
Barney: Once we were standing with our feet on the ground. Watching the stars In the sky all around. They twinkled so brightly; It gave us delight! Now we are outer space bound!
Little Dinos & Kids: Quick as a wink we were flying In a spaceship with our friends along. Past the moon and past Mars, Past comets and stars, Singing a happy song!
All: We float through the air With the greatest of ease, Just like a feather That's caught in the breeze! Like a kite in the clouds Or a ship on the sea, Floating together so free!
BJ: *hanging upside down* You know, I'm just having a great time "hanging around" with my friends!
Barney & Mr. Carter: Flying along in our spaceship With friends all aboard set for fun. We'll learn about space, And with comets we'll race Past the moon and Past Mars and the sun!

Baby Bop: Whoa! *giggles* This is fun and all, Barney but how do we get down?
Barney: *chuckles* don't worry, Baby Bop. You know what they say: What goes up, must come down. *pulls down on a switch as everyone slowly comes down to the ground*
Sabrina: Man, that was sweet!
Jimmy: That was fun, but I'm glad to be back on the ground. I was starting to feel like a bubble.
(we see Barney at the control center)
Barney: Hmm...according to the map, we'll be to the sun in just a few minutes!
(we see the rocket getting closer to the sun)
Baby Bop: Oh, look there's the sun right now!
Jimmy: But man, does it feel hot!
Barney: Well, maybe I can help with that! *his magic gives them lighter clothes and sunglasses*
Nathan: Now that's more like it!
(music starts for "The Sun")
Barney: Hello, sun, sun. The day's begun. When you shine bright, we have fun. The sun is warm, the sun makes light. When the sun goes down, it's time to say goodnight.
All: Fun, fun, for everyone. It's a happy day, when we're playing in the sun. Fun, fun, for everyone. It's a happy day, when we're playing in the sun.
Barney: When the sun comes out, the rain goes away. When we see the rainbow, it's time to play. Like a big yellow ball, in the sky, The sun's so bright - don't look him in the eye.

(music ends, as we see the rocket leaving the sun)
Baby Bop: Hey, I don't feel hot anymore.
Barney: *looks out the window* Well, we must've left the sun. In that case, we won't need these anymore. *his magic gives them back their spacesuits*
BJ: Outer space is so cool! There's so much to see! I wonder what we'll see next?
(Barney pushes some buttons on the control panel)
Barney: It looks like next we'll be headed to the moon!
Mr. Carter: Maybe we'll get to see where some of the astronauts walked on the moon.
Barney: Well, while we wait to reach the moon, we can learn more about the moon, with a little help from... *his magic makes the CGI Adventure Screen appear*
All (except Barney): The Adventure Screen!
Barney: Over the years, many astronauts have had the opportunity to get to walk on the moon! The very first astronaut who walked on the moon was Neil Armstrong. Oh, and here's an astronaut blasting off to outer space!
Baby Bop: Whoa! It looks really crowded inside! *giggles*
Barney: Well, this is what one of the very first rocket ships looked like! It was big enough to fit only one person inside, so it was kinda crowded!
Barney: But as the years go by, the rockets have gotten bigger, and more and more astronauts have gotten go to outer space. Oh, and look! Here are some footprints on the moon, and some craters!
(Barney makes the Adventure Screen disappear as they all clap)
BJ: I think it would be cool to walk on the moon!
Mr. Carter: And look, everyone! The moon is straight ahead!
(we see a CGI moon)
BJ: That's so cool!
Emma: I can see some of the craters!
Barney: Did you know that sometimes when you see the moon in the sky, sometimes, it will have a different shape. Sometimes, you'll see a big, round moon, which is called a full moon. When you see only part of the moon, that is called a half moon. And when you see a little sliver like this, it's called a crescent moon.
Baby Bop: No matter what shape it is, the moon is so beautiful. Remember the time we got to visit the Man in the Moon, Barney?
Barney: Oh, yes I do!
Nathan: You got to walk on the Moon, Baby Bop? Awesome!
Baby Bop: I sure did, Nathan! *giggles* Oh, the Man in the Moon is so dreamy!
(scene transitions to "The Misbegotten Moon")
(music starts for "Mr. Moon")
Baby Bop: Wherever I go, I always know you'll be shining on me. Yes, you're a big bright light, that shines in the night. for the whole wide world to see!

Baby Bop: After I go to sleep, I know Mister Moon is still shining on me, and even though his shape might change, he'll always remain the same friend for all to see!

BJ: A football? Where? I don't see one!
Mr. Carter: You have to look very carefully to find it, BJ.
(the stars form a constellation of a football)
BJ: Oh, I get it! There's a constellation of a football!
Mr. Carter: That's right, BJ!
Jimmy: Oh, and I see one, too! It's a constellation of a train!
(stars form the constellation of a train)
Baby Bop: Ooh, let me try one! I see...a tiara.
(stars form a tiara)
Barney: It's amazing what constellations you'll find, if you look very carefully, and use your imagination!
Baby Bop: Oh, and look at that star in my tiara! See how it twinkles so brightly?
(music starts for "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star")

(everyone gets off as they all adlib)
Emma: Thanks for taking us to outer space, Barney! It was lots of fun!
Barney: You're welcome! I had fun too!
BJ: It was a lot of fun. But we gotta get going home, Sissy. It's time for bed.
Baby Bop: *yawns* OK, BJ.
BJ: Bye guys, see you later.
(all say their goodbyes)
Baby Bop: BJ, wait a minute! What about the rocket?
Barney: Oh, of course! *his magic makes the rocket disappear then forms back into the toy rocket*
(Sabrina picks it up, and hands it to Baby Bop)
Sabrina: Here you are!
Baby Bop: Oh, thank you Sabrina!
BJ: OK, Sissy. We should really be going now.
(they all say their goodbyes as they disappear)
Sabrina: Thanks again, Barney! Outer space was lots of fun!
Nathan: Yeah, it was a "blast"
Barney: I had fun, too.
(music starts for "I Love You")
Barney: But whether it's here on Earth, or up in outer space, I alway's fun with the friends I love. I love you, you love me. We're a happy family. With a great big hug And a kiss from me to you, Won't you say you love me too?

(Mr. Carter begins adjusting the telescope)
Mr. Carter: I think now I might have it adjusted to the right spot for us to see Mars now. Who wants to take a look?
Nathan: I will! *looks through the telescope* Well, well, well...what have we here?
Jimmy: What do you see, Nathan?
Nathan: See for yourself...
Jimmy: *looks through the telescope* Barney!
(we see the Barney doll sitting on the tire swing through the telescope's point of view as the doll winks)
