Barney: Ok gang, are you ready to visit the land of mother goose?

(they all reply with yes)

Barney: Okay than use your imagination and we will be on our way!

(They magically appear in Mother Goose's house around a table with the Mother Goose Rhymes book placed on it.)

Barney: Oh my! What a way to travel!

(Mother Goose walks into the main room from stage left)

Mother Goose: Barney! Kids! Welcome!

(They greet her)

Mother Goose: Hi Kelly, Hi Christopher, Hello Taylor, How are you Nick?, Welcome to my home Jessica!

(The kids are confused because Mother Goose knows their names as Barney and Mother Goose are laughing)

Taylor: How do know our names?

Barney: This sounds familiar!

Mother Goose: It sure does..You see I know the names of all boys and girls that look in my books. Your grandparents, cousins, brother and sister I know them all!

Barney: You may know them but I don't think they know you!

Mother Goose: Than let me introduce myself!

("I'm Mother Goose" begins to play)

Mother Goose:

Oh, I'm Mother Goose and I'm here to say

That I love to  in rhyme.

I've been around for many, many years,

For a very, very, very long time.

I've been around for many, many years,

For a very, very, very long time.

(During the instrumental break they all waltz)

Jessica: Mother Goose, what's a rhyme?

Mother Goose:

Now what is a rhyme, you ask?

What is a rhyme, you say?

Rhyming words will sound the same,

Like "Fiddle" and "Diddle", "Name" and "Game.

Like "Rub a dub dub, three men in a tub",

I like to talk in rhyme.

(kids begin to sing as Barney and Mother Goose are waltzing)

Barney and Kids:

Oh, She's Mother Goose and She here to say

That She love to speak in rhyme.

Barney:

She's been around for many, many years,

For a very, very, very long time.

Mother Goose:

I've been around for many, many years,

For a very, very, very long time.

Mother Goose:

Now some of my rhymes are funny,

And some are for sleepy time.

And others talk about animals,

Like the sheep in Little Bo Peep.

Like sugar and spice and three blind mice,

I like to talk in rhyme.

Oh, She's Mother Goose and I'm here to say

That she loves to talk in rhyme.

She's been around for many, many years,

For a very, very, very long time.

Mother Goose:

I've been around for many, many years,

For a very, very, very long time

(song ends)

Barney: You see, Mother Goose and I have been very good friends for a while!

Mother Goose: We sure have!

Taylor: Mother Goose, you don't look much like a goose.

(Mother Goose laughs)

Mother Goose: Well It's because I'm not a goose!

Taylor: Than why are you called Mother Goose

Mother Goose: Because I love geese! Their everywhere around here. You know I even have a pe-

(Clearance pops around the corner and honks x2)

Mother Goose: There he is right now!

Barney: Oh hi Clarence! It's good to see you!

(They all greet the goose)

Mother Goose: Here's my pet goose Clarence!

Christopher: Why do you have such a big goose!?

Mother Goose: I'm a very busy woman and I always have to be somewhere. When I started out I had to walk everywhere and it was very tiring. So I decided to ride on Clarence and I have to tell you it was a lot easier!

Kelly: He must mean a lot to you!

Mother Goose: He sure does! One time he ran away!

Barney: Oh I remember that!

Mother Goose: I was very worried that he would never get him back.

Barney: but with good friends and a lot of imagination we got him back!

Jessica: How did you get Clarence?

Mother Goose: One day I was watering my flowers out in the garden and he just walked in!

Jessica: You have a garden?!

Mother Goose: I do! Do you guys want to see it?

(they all say yes and walk out the front door (without Clarence) to a set that looks similar to the "Rhyme Time Rhythm" set)

Barney: It's just as beautiful as I remember it!

Kelly: Look at these beautiful silver bells!

(She scrolls her hand through it as it plays a music riff)

Kelly: Wow! Hey Mother Goose? Are these the flowers from that Mary Mary Quite Contrary rhyme?

Mother Goose:

They sure are!

Mary, Mary, quite contrary

how does your garden grow?

With silver bells and cockle shells

and pretty maids all in a row.

(They all applaud)

Mother Goose: Thank you!

Taylor: Hey look it's Jack and Jill’s pale...and their they are now!

(The camera pans to the pathway leading up to the garden. Baby Bop and BJ appear via colored sparkles. They are dressed up as Jack and Jill)

BJ: Wow look at us, Sissy

Baby Bop: We look pretty!

BJ: C'mon Sissy let's say the rhyme!

(BJ starts to recite it)

Baby Bop: BJ. BJ, BJ! We can't say the rhyme.

BJ: Why?

Baby Bop: Because we don't have the pale.

BJ: Aye-yie-yie!

(Camera back to Taylor)

Taylor: Bee-ja-a-y..Ba-by Bo-o-op!

(They look at her)

Baby Bop: Oh Taylor!

(The two little dino’s run up to Taylor (who is at the fence))

Taylor: I think I have something of yours.

(They wonder what as she takes the pale out from under the gate)

Taylor: You’re pale

Baby Bop: Our pale! Our pale!

BJ: Now we can say the rhyme.

(They thank her, enter the garden greet everyone, take the pale and recite the rhyme (together at the same time) (acapella))

Both:

Jack and Jill went up the hill

To fetch a pail of water

Jack fell down and broke his crown

And Jill came tumbling after!

(When they finish the rhyme their clothing disappears.)

Both: Wow! That tickled.

Nick: Wow Mother Goose, I don't there is any other place like this!

Barney: Because there isn't any other place like this!

Barney:

We'll try to find the corner

of Little Jack Horner

Mother Goose:

A shoe for Betty Blue

BJ and Baby Bop:

Then, climb up the hill

with Jack and Jill

Barney:

and tumble to the bottom too

All:

The sun always shines

Music and rhymes,

Laughter and fun for everyone

Where do we begin?

The fun never ends

In the Land of Mother Goose

Barney:

Where do we begin?

The fun never ends

In the Land of Mother Goose!

(song ends)

(Kelly puts her nose in the air and inhales)

Kelly: Mmm! What's that smell?

Mother Goose: Oh I forgot I put some sweets in the oven!

(they are in awe)

Mother Goose: Let's go see if they are ready!

(the scene transits to them walking into the kitchen)

(the gang is in awe.)

(the set consists of trays and such with sweets on them)

Nick: Wow look at all of this!

Mother Goose: Well you know. I do like sweets.

Kids: We do too!

Mother Goose: Do you guys want some?

(They all say yes as the "Sweets Medley" begins)

Barney:

Oh, do you know the muffin man?

The muffin man, the muffin man?

Oh, do you know the muffin man

who lives on Drury Lane?

Kids:

Oh yes, we know the muffin man!

The muffin man, the muffin man.

Oh yes, we know the muffin man

who lives on Drury Lane!

Barney: I guess that's me!

Kelly:

Polly, put the kettle on.

Polly, put the kettle on.

Polly, put the kettle on.

We'll all drink tea.

(the screen transits to BJ and Baby Bop playing Pat-A-Cake)

Baby Bop:

Pat-A-Cake, Pat-A-Cake, Baker's man

Bake me a cake as fast as you can.

Roll it, and pat it, and mark it with a "B",

and put it in the oven for BJ and me.

BJ: Thanks, sissy!

(Scene transits to Mother Goose taking out a pie from the oven)

Mother Goose:

Sing a song of sixpence,

A pocket full of rye.

Four and twenty blackbirds,

Baked in a pie.

When the pie was opened,

The birds began to sing;

All:

Wasn't that a dainty dish,

To set before the king?

(Instrumental break)

Barney: These gumdrops look sort of like raindrops!

(medley resumes)

All:

If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops

Oh, what a rain that would be

Standing outside with my mouth open wide

Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah Ah-ah Ah

If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops

Oh, what a rain that would be!

BJ: One more time!

All:

Oh, do you know the muffin man?

The muffin man, the muffin man?

Oh, do you know the muffin man

who lives on Drury Lane?

Who Lives on Drury Lane!

(medley ends)

(Scene transits to the gang searching Mother Goose's house)

Chris: Hey Barney, what is this?

Barney: That's a shoe that once sailed throughout the beautiful night sky! It's a great story! Do you want to hear?

(The kids gather around as they say yes. "Wynken, Blynken and Nod". They recreate the "Rhyme Time Rhythm" scene)

Barney:

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod, one night,

sailed off in a wooden shoe.

Sailed on a river of crystal light

into a sea of dew.

Nick:

"Where are you going, and what do you wish?"

Barney:

The old moon asked the three.

Kids:

"We have come to fish for the herring fish

that live in this beautiful sea."

"Nets of silver and gold have we!"

Barney:

said Wynken, Blynken and Nod.

The old moon laughed and sang a song

as they rocked in the wooden shoe,

and the wind that sped them all night long,

ruffled the waves of dew.

Mother Goose:

Wynken and Blynken are two little eyes,

and Nod is a little head.

Barney:

And the wooden shoe that sailed the sky,

is a wee one's trundle bed.

Mother Goose:

So shut your eyes, while mother sings

of wonderful sights that be.

Barney:

And you shall see the beautiful things

as you rock on the misty see.

All:

Where the old shoe rocked the fisherman three

BJ:

Wynken,

Baby Bop:

Blynken

Barney:

and Nod.

All:

Wynken, Blynken and Nod!

(song ends as a drum and a laugh (from Riff) is heard)

Jessica: What was that?

Mother Goose: Doesn't sound like it was Clarence!

(They agree)

Chris: Let's go check!

(the clip transits to them walking into another room where Riff is playing the drum)

(they greet each other)

Barney: I didn't know that you came to play with Mother Goose!

Riff: I sure do! Mother Goose is tipity top!

Mother Goose: Well thank you, Riff...your pretty teapaty top!

(they laugh)

Barney: What were you doing?

Riff: I was drum tum tumming on this drum.

Mother Goose: That drum was owned by one of my good friends

(they ask who)

Mother Goose: Old King Cole!

(They are in awe and Barney makes everyone dress up to the lyrics of the song. (Riff is Old King Cole))

Barney:

Old King Cole was a merry old soul,

And a merry old soul was he.

He called for his pipe and he called for his bowl,

And he called for his fiddlers three.

All:

Dance with the fiddlers,

Dance with the fiddlers,

Dance with the fiddlers three.

Dance with the fiddlers,

Dance with the fiddlers,

Dance with the fiddlers three.

Barney:

Old King Cole was a merry old soul,

And a merry old soul was he.

He called for his queen and he called for his court,

And he called for his trumpeters three.

All:

Dance with the trumpeters,

Dance with the trumpeters,

Dance with the trumpeters three.

Dance with the trumpeters,

Dance with the trumpeters,

Dance with the trumpeters three.

Barney:

Old King Cole was a merry old soul,

And a merry old soul was he.

He called for his ladies and he called for his lords,

And he called for his drummers three.

All:

Dance with the drummers,

Dance with the drummers,

Dance with the drummers three.

Dance with the drummers,

Dance with the drummers,

Barney:

Dance with the fiddlers...Dance with the trumpeters...Dance with the drummers...Dance and dance and dance until

You all fall down with me!

Whee!

(song ends and when they fall down Barney and the kids transport from Mother Goose's house to the playground. When on the playground they are in their regular clothes and they are in the same spots)

(they are in awe)

Barney: Looks like we are back home!

(They are all sad)

Barney: Don't be sad. You can see her again..if you just iminagine.

(A note fly’s out of the open book on the playset)

(They are in awe and they pick it up)

Jessica: Barney, can you read it to us?
