  • All: Rig a jig jig and away we go, away we go, away we go. Rig a jig jig and away we go, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho! Hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho! Rig a jig jig and away we go, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho!

  • (By the end of the song, their now in front of the clubhouse entrance, where we also see the Barney doll sitting on the window ledge)
  • (Song ends as their all adlibbing at once, and are about to enter the clubhouse, until a voice offscreen is heard)
  • Male Voice: Mail delivery!
  • (The mailman arrives holding a letter)
  • Mailman: Mail delivery! Hello kids! How you doing today?
  • (The kids greet him)
  • Joey: Do you have any mail for us, Mr. Mailman?
  • Mailman: Why yes I do, Joey my boy! I have a letter for...uh...Barney the Dinosaur?
  • (the Barney doll comes to life)
  • Barney: Whoa! That’s me!
  • (The mailman gets startled by this)
  • Kids: Barney!
  • Barney: Hi everybody!
  • (The mailman stands there in shock)
  • Mailman: Well...that’s something you don’t see everyday.
  • (Barney chuckles)
  • Mailman: So your Barney the Dinosaur?
  • Barney: Why yes I am! The one and only!
  • Mailman: Well, here’s your letter. Have a great day, everyone!
  • (Everyone says their goodbyes to the mailman as he leaves then Barney and the kids go inside the clubhouse)
  • Barney: Oh, I just love getting mail!
  • Brandon: Who’s it from, Barney?
  • Barney: Well, there’s only one way to find out. I better open it. *starts to open but stops* Uh...or I could open it if my fingers weren’t so big.
  • Priscilla: Here, Barney. I’ll help you. *takes the letter and opens it*
  • Barney: OK. Thank you, Priscilla.
  • (Once opened, she hands the letter to Barney)
  • Barney: Hmm...oh it’s from my very good friend Professor Tinkerputt.
  • Kids: Professor Who?
  • Barney: Professor Tinkerputt. He’s the toy inventor I’ve told you about, remember?
  • Brandon: Oh yeah, he’s the one who made that Season Switcher Machine, right Barney? (4 Seasons of Fun reference)
  • Barney: That’s right, Brandon! Now let’s see what it says...Dear Barney, I’m so excited, because I’ve been working on some new inventions. I’ll be coming to the clubhouse for a visit to show you these inventions. I can’t wait for you to see them!
  • (Starts to read some more, until the sound of the door bell cuts him off)
  • Sabrina: Do you think that’s him right now, Barney?
  • Barney: Could be. Let’s go see.
  • (Everyone walks toward the door, as Barney opens it, and Professor Tinkerputt is waiting outside holding a suitcase)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Barney, Barney, Barney, it’s so wonderful to see you again!
  • Barney: You too, Professor.
  • (The two share a hug)
  • Barney: I’d like you to meet my friends. This is Sabrina.
  • Sabrina: Hi.
  • Barney: Brandon.
  • Brandon: Hello.
  • Barney: Joey.
  • Joey: Nice to meet you.
  • Barney: And Priscilla.
  • Priscilla: Hello Mr. Tinkerputt! It’s really nice to meet you! Barney has told us a lot about you.
  • (Kids agree)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: You know, that’s funny, because Barney has told me a lot about you guys, too! *laughs* But now that you’ve introduced yourselfs to me, I think I should introduce myself to you.
  • (music starts for “Tinkerputt’s Song”)
  • Tinkerputt: Mi, mi, mi, mi, mi, mi. My name is Professor Tinkerputt. You may think it’s funny, but I like it very much. I moved right here and planned to stay, to build my toys, and by the way. Ha, ha, ha. *picks one of his bags* My toys are great and so much fun to touch. *opens the bag and out shoots a ton of magic sparkles making several different toys/inventions appear*
  • (the kids adlib in excitement as they look around at each toy)
  • Tinkerputt: As you can see, I’ve made a lot of toys, And I invent them all by myself. I play with them and they make lots of noise, and then I set them back on the shelf. I spend my time making lots of new inventions, I use a little bit of everything I got, I found a motor in my attic, made a toy that’s automatic, and to turn it on I touch this spot. As you can see, I’ve made a lot of toys, and I invent them all myself. I play with them and they make lots of noise, and then I set them back on the shelf. I spend my time making lots of new inventions, I use a little bit of everything I got. I took a look around my cellar, and I found an old propeller, not to mention this old teapot.
  • Barney & Kids: As we can see, he’s made a lot of toys. And he invents them, all himself.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: That’s right!
  • Barney & Kids: He plays with them and they make lots of noise, and then he sets them back on the shelf.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: My name’s Professor Tinkerputt, you may think it’s funny, but I like it very much. I moved right here and plan to stay to build my toys, and by the way. Ha, ha, ha. These toys are great and so much fun to touch.
  • (Song ends)
  • Joey: Wow, look at all these toys! It’s like a museum!
  • (others agree)
  • Sabrina: So Professor. Can you tell us a little bit about your toys?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: I was just about to get to that, Sabrina. The toys present are things I’ve made from little knick knacks, and little pieces of this and that I find lying around. Then I use my imagination, to see what I’m capable of building. So, where would you like to start at Tinkerputt’s Take Me Anywhere Toy Factory?
  • Barney: *chuckles* This is so exciting! *chuckles*
  • (The kids look around)
  • (Joey stops to look at a machine)
  • Joey: Well Professor Tinkerputt, I’m sorta curious about what this is.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Ooh-ho-ho! Well Joey, this...is an Automatic Desert Maker. All you do is push a button…
  • Joey: Oh can I push it?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Be my guest.
  • (Joey pushes a button)
  • Barney: Oh I can’t wait to see what it’s going to do!
  • (The machine starts to rumble, until after a few seconds, it calms down, with a few cookies sliding out on a tray)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: And it’ll give you any kind of desert your tummy desires.
  • (kids adlib in excitement)
  • Joey: Wow, this thing is awesome!
  • Barney: It’s more than that, Joey. I’d say it’s...sweet.
  • Kids: Oh Barney!
  • (music starts for “Lookie it’s a Cookie”)
  • Joey: Lookie, lookie it’s a cookie, cookie. A cookie that I’m going to eat. Lookie, lookie, it’s a cookie. Yummy and nummy and sweet.
  • Barney: First we make ‘em. Then we bake ‘em. I can hardly wait until their done!
  • All: Lookie, lookie it’s a cookie, cookie. Cookies are wonderful fun!
  • (instrumental of song loops for a few seconds)
  • Priscilla: Can I try it out too, Professor?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: You sure can, Priscilla. That’s what it’s here for.
  • (Priscilla pushes the button and after some rumbling, some muffins slide out on a tray)
  • Priscilla: Cool! Muffins!
  • (Barney picks one up)
  • Barney: Oh, their blueberry muffins! My favorite! *chuckles*
  • (music starts for “Do You Know the Muffin Man?”)
  • Barney: Do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man? Do you know the muffin man, who lives on drury lane?
  • Tinkerputt & Kids: Yes we know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man. Yes we know the muffin man who lives on drury lane.
  • All: Who lives on drury lane.
  • (Song ends)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Pretty great, isn’t it?
  • (Others agree)
  • Priscilla: Hey, where did Sabrina go?
  • (others adlib in confusement)
  • Sabrina: I’m over here, guys!
  • (Everyone walks over to the table where she’s at)
  • Sabrina: What is this thing, Professor?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: This is my Turn Your Frown Upside Down Machine.
  • Brandon: What does it do?
  • Priscilla: What he just said: turns your frown upside down.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Precisely, Priscilla. Now who would like to demonstrate it for everyone?
  • Barney: Oh me, Professor? Please?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Ah yes Barney. Step right up.
  • Barney: Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! What do I do?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: It’s very easy, Barney. First, just push that button to turn it on.
  • Barney: Ok. *pushes the button*
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Then say a command, and it will do your best to make you laugh.
  • Barney: Ok. Tell me a joke please.
  • (machine beeps, and as it talks, it’s a robot male voice)
  • Machine: Why did the boy bring a ladder to school?
  • Barney: I don’t know. Why?
  • Machine: Because he wanted to go to “high” school.
  • (Rimshot)
  • (Everyone laughs)
  • Sabrina: That’s neat. Let me try something. *thinks for a minute* Tell me a silly story.
  • (machine beeps)
  • Machine: There once was a man who rode to work on a donkey. It was a bumpy ride until suddenly he was thrown off, and was left on the road.
  • (Kids laugh) (Barney: Uh oh *chuckles*)
  • Machine: Out of luck, and no one around, he had no choice but to walk to work. Until out of nowhere, an elephant swooped him up, and offered him a ride on his back.
  • (kids laugh)
  • Machine: The elephant shook the whole earth as he walked. That ride was even bumpier than taking the ride on the donkey. It got so bumpy, that the man fell off the elephant, and into a river.
  • (kids laugh)
  • Machine: This time, the man knew he was for sure out of luck. When all hope was lost, a giant eagle swooped him up, carried him through the sky, and dropped him into the building he worked at, and showed up right on time. The end.
  • (Everyone claps)
  • Barney: That was a very silly story! *chuckles* I just love a good laugh!
  • (music starts for “Laugh With Me”)
  • All: Ha, ha, ha. Hee, hee, hee. Come on, get silly and laugh with me. Giggle, gaggle, wiggle, waggle, ho, ho, ho. When your feeling happy, let it show.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: I got the sillies and when you get ‘em, you’ll be silly like me. I can’t stop laughing as you can see.
  • All: Ha, ha, ha. Hee, hee, hee. Come on, get silly and laugh with me. Giggle, gaggle, wiggle, waggle, ho, ho, ho. When your feeling happy, let it show.
  • Barney: I’ve got a tickle, it makes me wiggle, makes me jiggle, too. I can’t hold it in, I just gotta giggle. *chuckles*
  • All: Ha, ha, ha. Hee, hee, hee. Come on, get silly and laugh with me. Giggle, gaggle, wiggle, waggle, ho, ho, ho.
  • Kids: When your feeling happy...
  • Barney & Tinkerputt: Feeling happy…
  • Professor Tinkerputt: When you’ve got the sillies…
  • Barney & Kids: Got the sillies…
  • Barney: When you’ve got a tickle…
  • Tinkerputt & Kids: Got a tickle.
  • All: Let...it...show!
  • (Song ends)
  • (All continue laughing until we fade to the next scene)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: So everyone, how are you enjoying Tinkerputt’s Take Me Anywhere Toy Factory?
  • (Everyone talks at once)
  • Barney: It’s just as good as your real toy factory, Professor.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Ho, ho, why thank you, Barney.
  • Joey: Your inventions are so good, Professor. Where do you get your ideas?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Like I’ve told you before, Joey, it all starts with a little imagination. I try to make toys like no one’s seen them a toy before. I try to make my toys do unimaginable things, like *points at the dessert machine* cooking, or...OR….*motions over to everyone to follow him to a tall robot* Do things we can do, like walk around or dance!
  • (Everyone adlibs)
  • Brandon: Is that what this robot does, Professor?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: That’s right, Brandon. Just allow me to turn it on. *pushes a button as the robot comes to life*
  • (Robot noises are made as he slowly walks around)
  • (music starts for “We Are Little Robots”)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: I call this Tinkerputt’s Delightful Dancing Robot. He can do a lot. Just watch.
  • Robot: I’m a little robot. Yes, I’m a little robot. I love to sing and dance and play all day.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: He’s a little robot.
  • Robot: Yes, I’m a little robot. I love to sing and dance and play all day.
  • (Dance break)
  • Brandon: Wow! For a robot, that’s quite impressive.
  • Barney: Hey, how about we dance with him?
  • (Kids agree)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: What a splendid idea, Barney!
  • Robot: We are little robots.
  • Barney, Tinkerputt & Kids: We are little robots.
  • Robot: We are little robots.
  • Barney, Tinkerputt & Kids: We are little robots.
  • All: We love to sing and dance and play all day.
  • Robot: He’s a little robot.
  • Barney, Tinkerputt & Kids: He’s a little robot.
  • Robot: She’s a little robot.
  • Barney, Tinkerputt & Kids: She’s a little robot.
  • All: We love to dance in a very silly way. Yay!
  • (Dance break, until the song ends)
  • (The group exits the area, however the robot has a tiny malfunction. As the robot walks along, his arm gets lose, and he swings that arm around, nearly hitting Riff as he walks into the clubhouse)
  • Riff: Whoa! *ducks just in time avoiding the arm* *laughs* Whoa, that was a close one! *laughs* Oh hi guys!
  • (Everyone greets Riff)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Well, well, well. It’s the music man himself. Hey Riff, how’s it going?
  • Riff: Oh I’m doing great, Professor...except for that robot almost hit me.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Oh I’m terribly sorry about that, Riff. *walks over to the robot and turns it off* Hmm...his arm is lose. I wonder how that happened?
  • Joey: I guess his arm mustn't have been tight enough.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: I think your right about that, Joey. Oh what am I gonna do?
  • Barney: Is there anything we can do to help, Professor?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: I’m afraid not, Barney. If I had my tool box with me, this would be an easy fix.
  • Riff: *head lights up* Hey, wait a minute! I have my tool box upstairs. I’ll go get it for you, Professor. *laughs as he runs upstairs*
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Splendid!
  • Barney: You know Professor, I know how much Riff likes to invent as much as you do.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Hmm...where are you going with this, Barney?
  • Barney: Well, I think it would be a stu-u-u-pendous idea if you and Riff invented something together.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: I’d love to, but this robot needs to get fixed, too.
  • Barney: Hmm...I have an idea! Maybe while you fix the robot, you can help Riff invent something at the same time!
  • (Riff rushes down the stairs)
  • Riff: *laughs* That’s a tippity-top idea, Barney. Here you go, Professor. *hands him the toolbox*
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Thank you very much, Riff. So how about it? You really would like to invent something with me?
  • Riff: Would I? I’d love to! *laughs* Now all I need is an idea. Let me think, think, thinkity think….
  • (music starts for “Thinkety Think”)
  • Riff: Think, think, thinkity think. Thinkity, thinkity, thinkity, think. Think, think, thinkity think. Thinkity, thinkity, thinkity, think. In my mind, I can see it. In my heart, I can feel it. I know I can make it come to be. When I’ve got to solve a problem, or imagine something new….
  • All: I think, think, thinkity think. That’s what I do.
  • Riff: Sometimes a new idea takes some time to come to me. It doesn’t always happen right away. I try to do my best, and imagine what could be to make it happen in a very special way. In my mind, I can see it. In my heart, I can feel it. I know I can make it come to be. When I’ve got to solve a problem, or imagine something new….
  • All: I think, think, thinkity think. That’s what I do. I think, think, thinkity think. That’s what I do.
  • (Song ends)
  • Riff: *laughs* Wowzer! I got an idea! Oh Professor, come here. *whispers in his ear*
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Riff, that’s a good idea! No it’s more than good. That is a great idea!
  • Joey: What is it?
  • Riff: Oh, I can’t tell you. It’s gonna be a surprise.
  • Barney: *chuckles* Boy! I love surprises! *chuckles*
  • Riff: Hey, why don’t we work on it in the Art Room?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: OK. Lead the way.
  • Riff: *laughs* See ya in a little bit, guys.
  • (they say bye as Tinkerputt, also with the robot, and Riff go upstairs)
  • (fades to the next scene as they both enter the art room)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Alright. First things first, Riff. We need to fix the robot’s arm.
  • Riff: Okie-dokie. *opens the tool box*
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Let’s see here...wrench.
  • Riff: Wrench.
  • (he uses it to twist on the arm)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Screwdriver.
  • Riff: Screwdriver.
  • (he uses that for something)
  • (music starts for “Together, Together” as we fade to a little montage)
  • Tinkerputt & Riff: Together, together. Working together. It’s so much fun as you can see. Together, together, whenever we’re together, it’s a great time for you and me.
  • Riff: Nothing can stop us when we get together, every day and every night.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Working together, anything is possible. When your here, things turn out right.
  • Tinkerputt & Riff: Together, together. Working together. It’s so much fun as you can see. Together, together, whenever we’re together, it’s a great time for you…..for you and me.
  • (Song ends)
  • (Fades to the living room where the kids are doing homework, while Barney is reading a book, and construction noise is heard)
  • Sabrina: Man, they sure are busy. I don’t think I’ve heard them stop for a break.
  • (kids laugh)
  • Joey: When do you think they’ll be done?
  • Barney: I’m sure it won’t be too much longer of a wait.
  • Priscilla: I hope so, because they’ve been up there for quite a long time now.
  • (others agree)
  • (Riff rushes downstairs)
  • Riff: It’s ready, everybody! Come on up!
  • (Everyone adlibs in excitement as they go upstairs)
  • (We fade to everyone entering the art room)
  • Riff: Check it out!
  • (all adlibing at once as we see the now fixed robot, with several musical instruments around and attached to it)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Gather round, everyone!
  • Priscilla: What is it?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Riff, you can take the floor…
  • Riff: Thank you. *laughs* Well, since Professor Tinkerputt needed to fix his robot, and I wanted to invent something. we fixed the robot, so we could improve him to make him do something very special.
  • Brandon: Improve him how?
  • Riff: By making him play music all by himself, of course.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: I call it Tinkerputt’s Robot Musician. Turn it on Riff, and show them how it works.
  • Riff: Alright. *pushes the button as the robot turns on and starts playing several musical instruments, some individually, and some at the same time*
  • (All adlib at once)
  • Barney: That’s Super-Dee-Duper, you two!
  • Joey: That is awesome!
  • Priscilla: It’s unbelievable!
  • Brandon: I’ve never seen anything like it.
  • (music starts for “Our Little Robot Has a Band”)
  • All: Our little robot has a band, E-I-E-I-O. And in this band, he has a drum. E-I-E-I-O.
  • (Robot plays the drums)
  • All: With a boom, boom here and a boom, boom there. Here a boom, there a boom, everywhere a boom, boom. Our little robot has a band, E-I-E-I-O. Our little robot has a band, E-I-E-I-O. And in this band, he has some bells. E-I-E-I-O.
  • (Robot starts shaking the bells)
  • All: With a shake, shake here and a shake, shake there. Here a shake, there a shake, everywhere a shake, shake.
  • (starts playing the drums)
  • All: With a boom, boom here and a boom, boom there. Here a boom, there a boom, everywhere a boom, boom. Our little robot has a band, E-I-E-I-O. Our little robot has a band, E-I-E-I-O. And in this band he has a guitar. E-I-E-I-O. *plays each instrument to what’s being said in the song* With a twang twang here and a twang twang there. Here a twang, there a twang, everywhere a twang, twang. A shake, shake here and a shake, shake there. Here a shake, there a shake, everywhere a shake, shake. A boom, boom here and a boom, boom there. Here a boom, there a boom, everywhere a boom, boom. Our little robot has a band, E-I-E-I-O.
  • (Song ends)
  • (All adlib)
  • (Fades to the next scene as Barney and the kids walk down the stairs, followed by Tinkerputt and Riff slowly carrying the robot downstairs)
  • Riff: Aw boy, Professor. Thanks so much for letting me invent that with you.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Your very welcome, Riff. And thank you for helping me fix the robot, so you could invent with me. In fact, I’d like for you to keep the musician robot.
  • Riff: Really? You mean that?
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Of course I do, Riff. It’s all yours.
  • Riff: Wowzer! *laughs* Thanks. I know BJ and Baby Bop would love to see this. I’m gonna show this to them right now.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Be sure to tell Baby Bop and BJ your old pal Tinkerputt said hello!
  • Riff: *laughs* I will! Bye guys!
  • (Everyone says goodbye to Riff, as he stands by the robot, waving to everyone, then he and the robot disappear)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: *looks at his watch* Oh my! Look at the time! I better get going.
  • Barney: Oh I’m so glad you came for a visit today, Professor. It was wonderful getting to see you again.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: You too, Barney. And it was great getting to see your friends.
  • (The kids say back to him “It was nice to meet you too”)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: But before I leave, I must put everything back into my suitcase.
  • Priscilla: Would you like some help, Professor? You certainly have a lot to pack back up.
  • Professor Tinkerputt: Oh just watch this. *claps two times*
  • (The magic sparkles make everything disappear then the magic sparkles shoot into the suitcase, then Tinkerputt zips it close)
  • Professor Tinkerputt: There we go. Well, I’m off. Goodbye everyone, goodbye Barney. *he and Barney hug* I hope to see you all very soon.
  • (All say goodbye as Tinkerputt exits the clubhouse)
  • Brandon: It was great getting to meet Professor Tinkerputt, Barney.
  • (All kids agree)
  • Barney: It sure was.
  • (music starts for “I Love You”)
  • Barney: I’m always happy when I get to spend the day with my friends: old or new. I love you, you love me. We’re a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won’t you say you love me too?
  • All: I love you, you love me. We’re best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won’t you say you love me too?
  • (Song ends)
  • Kids: Bye Barney!
  • Barney: Goodbye everyone! I’ll see you soon! Bye, bye! *chuckles*
  • (Kids exit the clubhouse, then we zoom back to the Barney doll sitting on the coffee table, then the doll winks)
